source: april belle photos

What do you get when you combine carnival games, shop a dunk tank, medical and a performance from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony? Why, an NBA birthday bash of course!

Chris Bosh recently celebrated his 30th birthday with fabulous style!  Adrienne Bosh threw her hubby a “Cirque du Noir” themed party at Marlins Park. The Miami Power Forward/Center was all smiles in his gold tuxedo jacket and black mask. Many of his teammates were present during the extravagant birthday celebration.

What can I say? The Miami Heat certainly needed a day at the circus. After losing seven out of eleven games, the Miami Heat was able to snag a win against the Portland Trailbrazers on Monday night (93-91).

“It’s always good to have something like [Bosh’s party] in the middle of the season, whether you’re winning or losing,” LeBron James said after the win. “It definitely helps with losing, to get your mind off it.” (ESPN)

Skylar Diggins Stuns for Mark Magazine

Skylar Diggins is one balling beauty that never ceases to showcase her FAB-ness. The WNBA star graces the latest cover of Mark magazine. Diggins rocks a form-fitting Major hit dress that is available on Mark’s Website for $42. Mark is currently celebrating 10 years of beauty, fashion and empowerment. Diggins was also featured in Vogue magazine in a red zip crop-top and skirt (btw I am doing sit-ups while typing this). The Tulsa Shock point guard says that her “possibilities are endless” as a female athlete.

Dahntay Jones For Ebony Magazine

Dahntay Jones

I have never been jealous of a man’s shoe collection. Well, that was before Dahntay Jones’ Ebony magazine feature. I am not a sneaker head, but I felt a twitch of shoe envy amid the Nike Foamposite kicks, Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga and Lanvin.

As part of its “Sneakerhead Closet Confessions,” the April issue of Ebony magazine gives readers a peek inside of his walk-in closet. His style wonderland features 450+ pairs of shoes. Let me repeat myself. His style wonderland features 450+ pairs of shoes. One day, my heel closet will be on that level. One day.

Paul George’s Leather Ensemble

Not only did Paul George and the Pacers get slaughtered by the Chicago Bulls on Monday, but he also slaughtered 17 cows for his post game ensemble. The Indianapolis small forward/shooting guard recently shared a photo of his all-leather ensemble with his 671K Instagram followers.

After their 89-77 loss, the Pacers have dropped three of their last four games. Ouch. Things are looking quite grim for the Pacers, but at least Paul George is handling business off the court with his daring fashion!

That’s it for now, Divas! I will most definitely be back to give you the hottest news in NBA fashion/gossip. As always, I will keep you fabulously posted!

Gabrielle Union Stuns on the Arsenio Hall Show

Gabrielle Union Arsenio Hall

Intagram (gabunion)

I don’t think that I have ever seen Gabrielle Union looking anything less than FAB. During a recent appearence at the Arsenio Hall Show, viagra sale the  “Being Mary Jane”  star wore a fabulous Ramona LaRue red maxi dress.

She later changed into a sexy, black dress by Amen for her on-air interview and revealed that she does not want any bridesmaids when she ties the knot with Miami Heat star fiancé, Dwayne Wade, and that she insisted the couple have settled on a pre-nuptial agreement.

“When you have your own stuff, you don’t have to worry about someone elses stuff.” She says. Preach, Gabby – preach!

The stunning celebrity couple will be just a few of the ballers, babes and celebs heading to the NBA All-Star Weekend that began on Thursday night in New Orleans and wraps Sunday night with the 63rd All-Star Game at 7:00pm CT on TNT.

In a weekend that is full of events, music, parties, and fashion, Gabrielle, D.Wade and Chris Paul will host the Player’s Ball, an All-Star party at Harrah’s in New Orleans on Saturday night.

There will be much to discuss in next week’s Courtside Chic after this weekend’s festivities.
Orlando Magic’s Mascot Proposes to Kate Upton
Kate Upton

Valentine’s Day came early this week in Orlando when Orlando Magic fans got to witness an entertaining proposal between Kate Upton and Stuff, the Orlando Magic’s mascot. Yes, their mascot’s name is Stuff.

Wearing a simple cream colored blouse over a black cami, the supermodel received the surprise of her life. Stuff asked for Kate’s hand in marriage. Kate later showed off her post-engagement bling on Twitter. I guess she said yes? Mrs. Kate Stuff. Sounds kind of cute.

Kate Upton Twitter

The proposal wasn’t the only spectacular event of the evening. Shooting guard (and rookie) Victor Oladipo led the team by scoring 23 points with 13 in the fourth quarter. Victor and the Magic came together to snag a win from the East-leading Indiana Pacers (93-92). After recently defeating the Thunder in a 17 point comeback, Orlando has surprisingly beaten the top teams in both conferences.

Serge Ibaka’s Post Game ‘Fit

Serge Ibaka

Instagram (mr_avecclasee)

After a game against the New York Knicks, OKC Thunder’s Serge Ibaka posed for a style insfused Instagram photograph. Ibaka is all smiles in a black leather jacket and denim jeans. He has every reason to be smiling because Oklahoma City is the leading team in the Western Conference. On Sunday, they were able to bounce back from a loss to Orlando Magic and snag a win from the New York Knicks (100-112). Although Serge will not play in the All-Star game, he is sure winning in my eyes.

This year will mark the first time since 2011 that the best team at the break in a conference has only one player participating in the All-Star game (Kevin Durant).

Well, that’s it for now, Divas! I can’t wait to come back next week after All-Star Weekend. As always, I will keep you fabulously posted on the hottest fashion and gossip.

Gabrielle Union’s Blinging Engagement Ring

I hope that everyone had a fabulous Christmas! I know that Gabrielle Union did. That 8.5 carat engagement ring would put a smile on anyone’s face. Her beau Dwyane Wade finally popped the question over the weekend right before an NBA Christmas party.

The Heat’s guard posted a photo of the engagement ring with the caption “She said YES!!! @gabunion” Well, sovaldi of course she did. I mean, recipe she would look kind of crazy saying no…especially after accepting the championship ring.

Everything about this couple exudes ‘true love.’ Wade has even told Oprah that she makes his eyes sparkle. I got the same effect when I saw that ring. The only thing more beautiful than the cushion cut diamond is the way that he proposed.

His youngest son, Zion, held a sign with Union’s name, his nephew, Dahveon Morris, held a sign that said “Will you?” and his oldest son held a sign that said “marry us?” If you don’t at least think of shedding a tear after reading that, you have no heart. Wade also gave his team matching green jackets since he was in the “giving mood.”

Okay…now back to the ring! The cushion cut diamond was made by the fabulous Jason of Beverly Hills. Who…by the way will make my ring as well. Just, you know, FYI. The “Being Mary Jane” actress and the two -time champion will have a very happy life together. I am going to predict that wedding will be just as fabulous as the engagement!

Chandler Parsons Shaves his head for a Good Cause

Houston Rockets guard Chandler Parsons recently shaved his head in support of a remarkable 10 year-old boy. Patrick Hobbs-DeClaire is a cancer patient who happens to be Chandler Parson’s biggest fan. Parsons was inspired by the young man after meeting with him last week.

“His dad was telling me how he isn’t even scared of death. He is more worried about not looking like his twin brother anymore, so me being his favorite player, I decided to shave my head to look more like him and hopefully give him some support and encouragement from me.” Parsons says.  (via Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle)

The Rockets were able to defeat the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas day. Parsons  scored 21 points for the Rockets (19-11). It looks like he knew that a very special fan was watching.

Rusell Westbrook’s Pre-Game Leather Overalls

Russell Westbrook arrived at Madison Square Garden sporting leather overalls, a gold chain, and a beanie with the words “Killin’ It” across the forehead.

The OKC point guard indeed ‘killed it’ on Christmas day against the the New York Knicks. In fact, his hat should have said, ‘Slaughtered It.’ OKC gave the New York a blood-bath with a 123-94 final score. The Carmelo-less Knicks were even booed by their own fans.

Westbrook scored 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. This was his  first triple-double this season and seventh in his overall career. OKC assisted in making the Knicks’ record  0-7. Ouch.

Serge Ibaka’s All Black Ensemble

Instagram (mr_avecclasse)

Oklahoma City’s power forward, Serge Ibaka struck a pose in an Instagram photo with the caption “I’m having a Thunderful Christmas!!! How about you?”

His Christmas was ‘Thunderful’ indeed, as the Thunder managed to have the most dominant victory of the night. He scored 24 points with 10 of 14 shooting.  Looks like he is a winner on…and off of the court. He strikes a GQ pose looking delectable in all black. Not every man can pull off over-the-knee boots. Serge does it well.

Miami Heat Wives, Chris Bosh in Ugly Christmas Sweaters

The holiday season brings out the goofiness in wives/girlfriends included. Last Friday, the Miami WAGS threw an ugly sweater event. Savannah James looks adorable in her polka dot Christmas kitty sweater and Gabrielle Wade Union looks like an 89-year old book keeper in her snowman vest.  Adrienne Bosh, on the other hand, might not have captured the true essence of the evening because she is wearing a cute sweater. I know…boo! Her husband, however, redeemed her. On Christmas day, Chris Bosh arrived at the Staples Center rocking an electric sweater (literally).  The sweater lit up with the Abominable Snowman across the chest.

The Miami Heat  They was able to defeat the Kobe-less Lakers for their 6th straight win. Bosh scored 23 points and 11 rebounds. They are now 5-0. Happy Holidays to them!

That’s it for now Divas. I’ve got some Christmas leftovers to, um, take care of.  I will be back to keep you fabulously posted next week!

Beside every great player is a FABULOUS wife. Carmelo Anthony’s stunning other-half, search Lala, advice is certainly one of them. Lala gave me so much life-life at the Ebony Magazine Power 100 dinner.

The dinner celebrated heavy-hitters in entertainment, viagra sports, business and philanthropy. Lala looked amazing in her fitted, Stella McCartney color-blocked midi. Everything about this dress is so right! Too bad that I cannot say the same about Carmelo’s performances.

Melo and the Knicks continue to struggle as they go from having a stellar offensive game to…well one of the worst in the league. Anthony even went as far as commiting an ultimate flub-up when he tipped a missed layup into the Charlotte Bobcat’s basket. Yes…he scored for the other team. You know, I don’t usually say ‘oy vey’ but if I did, now would be the perfect time.

The New York Knicks recently cleaned out their closet with the losses of Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace, Kurt Thomas, and Marcus Camby. To make matters even worse, key player Tyson Chandler could be out for four to six weeks due to an injury suffered during the first quarter of the Charlotte Bobcat’s game. Let’s not even mention J.R. Smith’s 5-game suspension.

The hopeful Carmelo believes that his team will rise above their lackluster performances. According to ESPN New York’s Ian Begley, he says the team has got to remain positive. “We’ve got to stay together as a unit, as a team, remain positive and get through this.”

The Golden State Warriors add a Crisp, New Jersey to their Rotation

There is nothing like a team that plays good basketball…while looking good doing it. The Golden State Warriors recently unveiled a new alternate jersey. The white sleeved jersey will be worn for the Saturday games during the 2013-14 season. This joins the yellow sleeved jersey that was introduced last season. These crisp, clean uniforms are the lightest uniform in the league, and have  a 360-degree stretch fabric. The Warriors were the first to join forces with Adidas and wear sleeves during games.

Howard Smith, USA Today Sports

I must say, the Warriors are doing just fine without these top of the line jerseys. Point guard Stephen Curry and shooting guard Andre Iguodala seemed like a match made in heaven during Monday’s game against the 76ers. Steph-andre Curry-dala turned out the Wells Fargo Center, nipping Philadelphia’s winning streak in the bud. Iguodala scored 32 points in the 110-90 win. Stephen Curry also experienced his second career triple-double for Golden State with 18 points 12 assists and 10 rebounds.  I don’t know how I feel about sleeved jerseys. I’m a girl that likes biceps classics. One thing I do know is that the Warriors are playing with a sense of urgency!

D. Wade Surprises Gabrielle Union with a Championship Ring

Yes, it’s true. The Being Mary Jane star got a championship ring before Kevin Durant. I  wonder how he feels about that.  A day after the Heat snagged a 95-107 win from the Chicago Bulls (It’s not over yet), D. Wade surprised her with the gem on her 41st birthday (41st…wait. Huh?).

Hopefully, this ring is followed by an even BIGGER one.You know what they say…first comes the championship ring, then comes the engagement ring. At least I think that’s how it works.

Iman Shumpert gets rid of his Iconic Flat Top

I think that we can all agree that Iman Shumpert’s hair has currently made more headlines than that of anyone else’s in the league. I mean, I could have written my Senior dissertation on the Knicks guard’s  ‘do. NBA 2k14 even completed an extensive layout that would showcase his signature hair style.

Shumpert has expressed hopes of achieving a Johnny Bravo-like hairstyle. These goals were cut short when he got rid of his trademark flat-top. The guard claims that it was to “punish himself.” Given the way the Knicks have been playing, his frustration is understandable. The Oak Park native says that he wanted to stop trying to ‘be cool’ and focus on winning a ring.

I, for one, am taking this personally.  Come on now, Iman. It is possible to be stylish and play good basketball.

Pink's Pulse

Missed a few headlines this week? Worry not, clinic I’ve got my finger on the sports pulse for you. Below is my weekly round-up of what’s trending or what’s coming up in sports: perfect for sports bars, case cocktail parties, sale board rooms, and well…just knowing your week in sports.

  • Derrick Rose and the Bulls: The NBA season kicked off this week with high hopes and clean slates. After the Bulls disappointing season opener on the road in Miami vs. the Miami HeatDerrick Rose had a warm welcome as the Bulls faced the New York Knicks on Thursday night in front of the home crowd where Rose put on a show with a spectacular finish. Derrick looks almost back to form, but the offense needs time to mesh. So don’t fret. I will say though, that the Bulls need to make a move on a sharp shooter to help them against Miami. Fingers crossed.
  • Bears vs. Packers MNF: It’s that time of year again. The time when the Chicago Bears must travel up to Lambeau field to face the Green Bay Packers…without Jay Cutler. It’s a must-watch game, but it may not be pretty. Here’s a stat to keep in the back of your mind: the Packers are 0-2 against the Bears on Monday Night Football. Could this be a win for the Bears? We will definitely need to see how for real Josh McCown is and his chemistry with Brandon Marshall. The bigger question is our defense. With Lance Briggs out, it will be interesting to see how the Bears handle Eddie Lacy and Jordy Nelson.
  • College basketball is here: This week also brings college basketball to the homes of America. Of course, most teams play exhibition games but it’s great to see the new additions your teams have made in the offseason and the new team chemistry. AP already has Kansas as the favorite. How could you not with Andrew Wiggins? Here’s what you should be watching out for: The Big 10 Conference. With Trey Burke and those Indiana stars gone, it might just be anyone’s year in the conference. All in all, college basketball is back!

  • Christian Ponder’s moving?: Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier named

    Christian Ponder’s house

Christian Ponder the starting quarterback this week against the Dallas Cowboys. Let’s be honest though, his days are numbered. He knew that after they started Matt Cassel and brought in Josh Freeman. Even more proof: Ponder is selling his million-dollar home near Lake Minnetonka on the market. Come on Christian, can you be a little more obvious?? I will him this…the house he’s putting on the market is beautiful. But it’s time to go and be a back up quarterback somewhere else.

  • Dolphins player quit because he was bullied: I guess bullying doesn’t stop after high school and college. Right before the Miami Dolphins played their game on Thursday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, offensive lineman Jonathan Martin left the Dolphins after being relentlessly teased and bullied by his teammates who called him “Big Weirdo.”I will say this, bullying is not cool. Grown men should know better, but people tease other people. If Martin had a problem with it, he should have said something. He plays football and I’m sure he’s been called worse in the trenches of the line of scrimmage but leaves because he’s called ‘Big Weirdo?’ He wouldn’t have lasted anyway.

  • Gabrielle Union championship ring: After Dwyane Wade and Miami Heat won the NBA Finals, they all were awarded championship rings…even Wade’s girlfriend Gabrielle Union. That’s right. Union, who didn’t play a second of basketball, also received a 2013 Miami Heat championship ring. If this is going to be the new thing, I am not all for it. Rings for the the people that earned them. End of story.
