Chris Bosh’s 30th Birthday Bash

source: april belle photos

What do you get when you combine carnival games, shop a dunk tank, medical and a performance from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony? Why, an NBA birthday bash of course!

Chris Bosh recently celebrated his 30th birthday with fabulous style!  Adrienne Bosh threw her hubby a “Cirque du Noir” themed party at Marlins Park. The Miami Power Forward/Center was all smiles in his gold tuxedo jacket and black mask. Many of his teammates were present during the extravagant birthday celebration.

What can I say? The Miami Heat certainly needed a day at the circus. After losing seven out of eleven games, the Miami Heat was able to snag a win against the Portland Trailbrazers on Monday night (93-91).

“It’s always good to have something like [Bosh’s party] in the middle of the season, whether you’re winning or losing,” LeBron James said after the win. “It definitely helps with losing, to get your mind off it.” (ESPN)

Dahntay Jones For Ebony Magazine

Dahntay Jones

I have never been jealous of a man’s shoe collection. Well, that was before Dahntay Jones’ Ebony magazine feature. I am not a sneaker head, but I felt a twitch of shoe envy amid the Nike Foamposite kicks, Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga and Lanvin.

As part of its “Sneakerhead Closet Confessions,” the April issue of Ebony magazine gives readers a peek inside of his walk-in closet. His style wonderland features 450+ pairs of shoes. Let me repeat myself. His style wonderland features 450+ pairs of shoes. One day, my heel closet will be on that level. One day.

Paul George’s Leather Ensemble

Paul George fash

source: @paul_george24

Not only did Paul George and the Pacers get slaughtered by the Chicago Bulls on Monday, but he also slaughtered 17 cows for his post game ensemble. The Indianapolis small forward/shooting guard recently shared a photo of his all-leather ensemble with his 671K Instagram followers.

After their 89-77 loss, the Pacers have dropped three of their last four games. Ouch. Things are looking quite grim for the Pacers, but at least Paul George is handling business off the court with his daring fashion!

That’s it for now, Divas! I will most definitely be back to give you the hottest news in NBA fashion/gossip. As always, I will keep you fabulously posted!

It doesn’t get much better than a Bulls overtime win against the two-time defending Champion Miami Heat. I know it was only a regular season game, cure but the Chicago-Miami rivalry is never to be taken lightly. I don’t care if it is a backyard pickup game, find it feels good to watch the Bulls defeat the Heat.

The afternoon was full of heart, hustle and muscle led by the ever impressive Joakim Noah. The Bulls demonstrated their notorious resilience as they fought their way out of a double-digit deficit during the fourth quarter. It was a “sit at the edge of your seat” kind of end to regulation, but the Bulls dominated OT for a 95-88 Chicago victory.

What You Need to Know:

  • Jo-No is undoubtedly an NBA superstar. The Joakim Noah frenzy has taken over Chicago and only continues to grow as Noah brings out all the stops this season. The All-Star center had 20 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and five blocked shots – just an average day of work for the #messybunswag.

  • Yannick Noah (former French tennis player and Joakim’s dad) needs to be a regular at every Bulls game. He almost stole the show during his cameo interview where he proceeded to cheer, clap and finger wag as Noah willed his Bulls back into the game. I think it’s pretty obvious where Jo-No gets his fire and passion from. Nothing like a proud papa to warm your heart.
  • Deja Vu Avoided: DJ Augustin had his worst game of the season against the Heat in February, but Sunday was a different story. Augustin found his shooting mojo and scored a team high 22 points.
  • Jimmy Butler (16 points) held his own against the King James all afternoon limiting the four-time MVP to 17 points. He not only proved he is truly one of the league’s top defenders, but also put a a huge stop on BronBron at the end of regulation to prevent Mr. Clutch from making the game winning shot and sent the game into OT.
  • Chicago native Dwyane Wade was Miami’s top performer with 25 points. It’s obvious Wade likes to put on his best shows in front of his hometown audience – can ya blame him?

  • I think BronBron had a little too much fun galavanting around Chi-town all weekend. Friday night you could buy tickets for a “Lebron Party” at Y Bar and Saturday night he was spotted at Lumen. Anyone who PAID to hang out with Lebron this weekend better not be a Bulls fan, that’s all I’m saying. James opted to not wear his protective face mask on Sunday and he may have gotten a Jimmy Butler foot to the face (oops).

Your Take Away Piece:

“Nothing makes Bulls fans happier than a Bulls win over the Heat. Miami is the team who has eliminated our guys from the playoffs for the last three years. At the end of the day, any fan knows for the Bulls to get their championship they’re going to have to go through King James and the Heat.  Games like these give us fans hope that maybe, just MAYBE our Bulls could take on the Heat in a seven games series and head to the NBA finals. You never know.

What’s Next:

The Bulls have a tough few weeks ahead with match ups against the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, OKC Thunder and Indiana Pacers. Jo-No and his merry men will have to take it a game at a time. First up are the Spurs who will visit the UC on Tuesday at 7 PM. Be sure to tune in on WGN to catch all the action.

Gabrielle Union Stuns on the Arsenio Hall Show

Gabrielle Union Arsenio Hall

Intagram (gabunion)

I don’t think that I have ever seen Gabrielle Union looking anything less than FAB. During a recent appearence at the Arsenio Hall Show, viagra sale the  “Being Mary Jane”  star wore a fabulous Ramona LaRue red maxi dress.

She later changed into a sexy, black dress by Amen for her on-air interview and revealed that she does not want any bridesmaids when she ties the knot with Miami Heat star fiancé, Dwayne Wade, and that she insisted the couple have settled on a pre-nuptial agreement.

“When you have your own stuff, you don’t have to worry about someone elses stuff.” She says. Preach, Gabby – preach!

The stunning celebrity couple will be just a few of the ballers, babes and celebs heading to the NBA All-Star Weekend that began on Thursday night in New Orleans and wraps Sunday night with the 63rd All-Star Game at 7:00pm CT on TNT.

In a weekend that is full of events, music, parties, and fashion, Gabrielle, D.Wade and Chris Paul will host the Player’s Ball, an All-Star party at Harrah’s in New Orleans on Saturday night.

There will be much to discuss in next week’s Courtside Chic after this weekend’s festivities.
Orlando Magic’s Mascot Proposes to Kate Upton
Kate Upton

Valentine’s Day came early this week in Orlando when Orlando Magic fans got to witness an entertaining proposal between Kate Upton and Stuff, the Orlando Magic’s mascot. Yes, their mascot’s name is Stuff.

Wearing a simple cream colored blouse over a black cami, the supermodel received the surprise of her life. Stuff asked for Kate’s hand in marriage. Kate later showed off her post-engagement bling on Twitter. I guess she said yes? Mrs. Kate Stuff. Sounds kind of cute.

The proposal wasn’t the only spectacular event of the evening. Shooting guard (and rookie) Victor Oladipo led the team by scoring 23 points with 13 in the fourth quarter. Victor and the Magic came together to snag a win from the East-leading Indiana Pacers (93-92). After recently defeating the Thunder in a 17 point comeback, Orlando has surprisingly beaten the top teams in both conferences.

Serge Ibaka’s Post Game ‘Fit

Serge Ibaka

Instagram (mr_avecclasee)

After a game against the New York Knicks, OKC Thunder’s Serge Ibaka posed for a style insfused Instagram photograph. Ibaka is all smiles in a black leather jacket and denim jeans. He has every reason to be smiling because Oklahoma City is the leading team in the Western Conference. On Sunday, they were able to bounce back from a loss to Orlando Magic and snag a win from the New York Knicks (100-112). Although Serge will not play in the All-Star game, he is sure winning in my eyes.

This year will mark the first time since 2011 that the best team at the break in a conference has only one player participating in the All-Star game (Kevin Durant).

Well, that’s it for now, Divas! I can’t wait to come back next week after All-Star Weekend. As always, I will keep you fabulously posted on the hottest fashion and gossip.

Gabrielle Union’s Blinging Engagement Ring

I hope that everyone had a fabulous Christmas! I know that Gabrielle Union did. That 8.5 carat engagement ring would put a smile on anyone’s face. Her beau Dwyane Wade finally popped the question over the weekend right before an NBA Christmas party.

The Heat’s guard posted a photo of the engagement ring with the caption “She said YES!!! @gabunion” Well, sovaldi of course she did. I mean, recipe she would look kind of crazy saying no…especially after accepting the championship ring.

Everything about this couple exudes ‘true love.’ Wade has even told Oprah that she makes his eyes sparkle. I got the same effect when I saw that ring. The only thing more beautiful than the cushion cut diamond is the way that he proposed.

His youngest son, Zion, held a sign with Union’s name, his nephew, Dahveon Morris, held a sign that said “Will you?” and his oldest son held a sign that said “marry us?” If you don’t at least think of shedding a tear after reading that, you have no heart. Wade also gave his team matching green jackets since he was in the “giving mood.”

Okay…now back to the ring! The cushion cut diamond was made by the fabulous Jason of Beverly Hills. Who…by the way will make my ring as well. Just, you know, FYI. The “Being Mary Jane” actress and the two -time champion will have a very happy life together. I am going to predict that wedding will be just as fabulous as the engagement!

Chandler Parsons Shaves his head for a Good Cause

Houston Rockets guard Chandler Parsons recently shaved his head in support of a remarkable 10 year-old boy. Patrick Hobbs-DeClaire is a cancer patient who happens to be Chandler Parson’s biggest fan. Parsons was inspired by the young man after meeting with him last week.

“His dad was telling me how he isn’t even scared of death. He is more worried about not looking like his twin brother anymore, so me being his favorite player, I decided to shave my head to look more like him and hopefully give him some support and encouragement from me.” Parsons says.  (via Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle)

The Rockets were able to defeat the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas day. Parsons  scored 21 points for the Rockets (19-11). It looks like he knew that a very special fan was watching.

Rusell Westbrook’s Pre-Game Leather Overalls

Russell Westbrook arrived at Madison Square Garden sporting leather overalls, a gold chain, and a beanie with the words “Killin’ It” across the forehead.

The OKC point guard indeed ‘killed it’ on Christmas day against the the New York Knicks. In fact, his hat should have said, ‘Slaughtered It.’ OKC gave the New York a blood-bath with a 123-94 final score. The Carmelo-less Knicks were even booed by their own fans.

Westbrook scored 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. This was his  first triple-double this season and seventh in his overall career. OKC assisted in making the Knicks’ record  0-7. Ouch.

Serge Ibaka’s All Black Ensemble

Instagram (mr_avecclasse)

Oklahoma City’s power forward, Serge Ibaka struck a pose in an Instagram photo with the caption “I’m having a Thunderful Christmas!!! How about you?”

His Christmas was ‘Thunderful’ indeed, as the Thunder managed to have the most dominant victory of the night. He scored 24 points with 10 of 14 shooting.  Looks like he is a winner on…and off of the court. He strikes a GQ pose looking delectable in all black. Not every man can pull off over-the-knee boots. Serge does it well.

Miami Heat Wives, Chris Bosh in Ugly Christmas Sweaters

The holiday season brings out the goofiness in everyone..basketball wives/girlfriends included. Last Friday, the Miami WAGS threw an ugly sweater event. Savannah James looks adorable in her polka dot Christmas kitty sweater and Gabrielle Wade Union looks like an 89-year old book keeper in her snowman vest.  Adrienne Bosh, on the other hand, might not have captured the true essence of the evening because she is wearing a cute sweater. I know…boo! Her husband, however, redeemed her. On Christmas day, Chris Bosh arrived at the Staples Center rocking an electric sweater (literally).  The sweater lit up with the Abominable Snowman across the chest.

The Miami Heat  They was able to defeat the Kobe-less Lakers for their 6th straight win. Bosh scored 23 points and 11 rebounds. They are now 5-0. Happy Holidays to them!

That’s it for now Divas. I’ve got some Christmas leftovers to, um, take care of.  I will be back to keep you fabulously posted next week!

Silence the haters. The Chicago Bulls earned themselves a well deserved ego boost at the United Center when they dominated the Miami Heat Thursday night. The formula for success was simple, store the Bulls out hustled, and out rebounded, check out competed and out played the defending champs.

After the devastating loss of Derrick Rose the Bulls have faced serious adversity and haven’t been able to close out a game. Los Bulls looked refreshed and not like a team who recently suffered the loss of their star player. Chicago held onto their lead impressively. No one anticipated this blow out, but we’ll gladly take it against Lebron and his crew!

What You Need to Know:

  • Size does matter. The Bulls used their size advantage against the Miami Heat and the big men came out on top. Carlos Boozer led all scorers with 27 points. Joakim Noah had a 17 point and 15 rebound double-double.  Bulls’ sixth man Taj Gibson did some damage with 19 points as well.

    via __jacobwebb__ Instagram

  • Luol Deng has been a complete animal lately. He had 20 points on the board last night all while challenging Lebron James defensively. This is the sixth straight game that Deng has scored at least 20 points for the Bulls this season…no big deal.
  • Threes were Key: The Bulls hit 10 three-point shots against the Heat when they’ve been averaging six a game. On the opposite end of the court the Bulls held the Heat to only six three-pointers which is where they can attack a team from the outside in.
  • Lebron James was the leading scorer for the Heat with 21 points, but he couldn’t close the point gap for his team last night. Michael Beasley followed with 15 points.
  • The “Big Three” were without Chicago-native Dwyane Wade who stayed at the team hotel due to sickness. Chris Bosh might as well have been sick. He had 10 points, but looked defeated under the basket against Chicago’s bigger bodies.
  • A Little Romance at the UC. A Luv-A-Bull found forever love at center court last night. She was proposed to in front of the UC crowd and the entire display was caught on the jumbo screen.

Your Take Away Piece:

“Thursday’s win was absolutely refreshing for Bulls fans. It wasn’t a playoff game, but it was a big win against a big rival. This is the kind of team basketball the Bulls’ need to play consistently. They may be without Derrick Rose, but the team still has a ton of talent on the roster. Let’s use it and abuse it. If the team can produce this much offense on the regular, we might see our Bulls with a winning record very soon.”

What’s Next:

Next on the agenda the Bulls will host the Detroit Pistons on Saturday at 7PM. Be sure to tune in on WGN between holiday parties to see if the Bulls can keep the winning streak alive. All hope is not lost, ‘Tis the Season to BULLieve.

Banners will be raised, pilule rings will be handed out and the Chicago Bulls hope to dent the egos of the two-time defending Champion Miami Heat on Tuesday night. The Bulls are hungry to prove themselves this year and what better way to get things going than to take on King James and company in South Beach in the first game of the season?

The rivalry between these Eastern Conference foes continues to grow each year and the Bulls have become more eager to put a stop on the Heat’s dominance within the East. The Heat’s confidence will be on high after receiving their lavish Championship display, cheap the intensity of American Airlines Arena will heighten filled with ecstatic Heat fans, cialis but the Bulls players feel they have the talent to beat the Heat.

What You Need to Know:

  • Reigning MVP Lebron James made it clear, these two teams do not like one another (last year’s brawls during the semi-finals of the NBA Playoffs can prove that). Expect a big game out of King James who’s looking to maintain his “Top NBA Player” status. James’ supporting cast is still in tact with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier, and Udonis Haslem returning this season.
  • Derrick Rose will play in his first regular season game in over a year. Our excitement to see the star take the court in an official game can barely be contained. Rose sat on the sidelines while his team battled Miami in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs last season. He’s ready to take his game to the next level and get this 82 game season started with a win.
  • Jimmy Butler came up big in the games against Miami with his tough defense and crazy offense. Why not start the 2013 season with a standout performance against the Heat?
  • Joakim Noah is questionable for the opening game with a groin injury. This puts the Bulls in a tough spot since Noah is so dominant under the basket and can provide a boost on offense as well. The Bulls have done it before when Noah was sidelined with plantar fasciitis – we’d just prefer our All-Star always be on the court.
  • The Bulls and Heat split the 2012-2013 season 2-2. No matter who’s healthy and on the floor, the Bulls always give the Heat a tough game. Defense will play a huge factor in the Bulls’ success. Keeping James under control is always your best bet when playing the Heat. The Heat have not forgotten that it was the Bulls who ended their 27-game winning streak last season. They will be looking for redemption tonight and this season.

    Man-pri & Murse

  • If nothing else, you can expect some crazy post-game press conference ensembles from the fashionistas of Miami otherwise known as Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. Man-pris and murses galore!

Your Take Away Piece:

“Things may get ugly with all the hype of the ring ceremony and the historic intensity between these two teams. The Bulls and Heat are two of the most competitive teams in the league and they just happen to be each other’s biggest rivals. Hopefully the brawls from last season will be contained and a clean game of basketball will be played. It’s a new year – clean slate right?”

What’s Next:

Be sure to tune in at 7 PM on TNT to catch the conference battle between the Bulls and Heat. You may want to tune in a bit late to miss the ring ceremony theatrics for the diva-licious Heat. It might be the first game of the season, but expect both teams to pull out all the stops in this rivaled match-up.
