What do you get when you combine carnival games, shop a dunk tank, medical and a performance from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony? Why, an NBA birthday bash of course!
Chris Bosh recently celebrated his 30th birthday with fabulous style! Adrienne Bosh threw her hubby a “Cirque du Noir” themed party at Marlins Park. The Miami Power Forward/Center was all smiles in his gold tuxedo jacket and black mask. Many of his teammates were present during the extravagant birthday celebration.

What can I say? The Miami Heat certainly needed a day at the circus. After losing seven out of eleven games, the Miami Heat was able to snag a win against the Portland Trailbrazers on Monday night (93-91).
“It’s always good to have something like [Bosh’s party] in the middle of the season, whether you’re winning or losing,” LeBron James said after the win. “It definitely helps with losing, to get your mind off it.” (ESPN)
Skylar Diggins Stuns for Mark Magazine
Skylar Diggins is one balling beauty that never ceases to showcase her FAB-ness. The WNBA star graces the latest cover of Mark magazine. Diggins rocks a form-fitting Major hit dress that is available on Mark’s Website for $42. Mark is currently celebrating 10 years of beauty, fashion and empowerment. Skylar is certainly making a “mark” in the media!
Diggins was also featured in Vogue magazine in a red zip crop-top and skirt (btw I am doing sit-ups while typing this). The Tulsa Shock point guard says that her “possibilities are endless” as a female athlete.
Dahntay Jones For Ebony Magazine
I have never been jealous of a man’s shoe collection. Well, that was before Dahntay Jones’ Ebony magazine feature. I am not a sneaker head, but I felt a twitch of shoe envy amid the Nike Foamposite kicks, Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga and Lanvin.
As part of its “Sneakerhead Closet Confessions,” the April issue of Ebony magazine gives readers a peek inside of his walk-in closet. His style wonderland features 450+ pairs of shoes. Let me repeat myself. His style wonderland features 450+ pairs of shoes. One day, my heel closet will be on that level. One day.
Paul George’s Leather Ensemble
Not only did Paul George and the Pacers get slaughtered by the Chicago Bulls on Monday, but he also slaughtered 17 cows for his post game ensemble. The Indianapolis small forward/shooting guard recently shared a photo of his all-leather ensemble with his 671K Instagram followers.
After their 89-77 loss, the Pacers have dropped three of their last four games. Ouch. Things are looking quite grim for the Pacers, but at least Paul George is handling business off the court with his daring fashion!
That’s it for now, Divas! I will most definitely be back to give you the hottest news in NBA fashion/gossip. As always, I will keep you fabulously posted!
I knew that Rhi-Rhi was my style muse for a reason. Anyone who reps the Chicago Bulls is alright with me! The pop icon was recently spotted wearing a satin Chicago Bulls Starter jacket. Rhi-Rhi completed the look with a white crop top and a pair of Generic Girl Distressed boyfriend jeans. The FAB Annelise Michelson Carnivore choker adds a touch of edge to the sporty, ask grungy look.
The Chicago Bulls are now second in the Central Division, see and recently served the Philadelphia 76ers their 22nd straight loss. No, find not 2nd. 22nd. Ouch. D.J. Augustin scored 20 points and Taj Gibson had 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 102-94 win. See…this is the dedication that I love. Even without marquee players, the Bulls can still band together and earn a blowout ‘W.’ We’ll see you at playoffs!
Chris Bosh Makes an Appearance at an Express Runway Show
Miami’s Raleigh Hotel was recently the land of fabulousness as Express hosted a runway fashion show. The style infused event showcased the pieces from the Summer 2014 collection. Sports Illustrated model and Express brand ambassador Kate Upton hosted the show. Miami’s Chris Bosh also made an appearance as well. The 7 foot Forward/Center told South Florida that he fancies Express’ clean-cut look.
“I like the look of EXPRESS. I’ve always like the clean, very fashion forward, mininmal look that they have, ” he said. “When you’re 7-feet, you become a window shopper and you just look and think, ‘Man, I like that. Too bad I can’t get it.’ But I can fit their shirts. At least I can wear the shirts.” (Southflorida.com)
La La in Fashion Nova Jeans
With Lala Anthony’s busy schedule, it’s a wonder how she manages to stay so fabulous. Ms. Anthony is amazingly managing clothing/cosmetic lines, attending book signings , filming television shows/film and of course running around with 7-year old Kiyan. Who runs the world? Girls. Even in jeans, she manages to slay! The New York WAG recently took to Instagram an showcased her body hugging, Fashion Nova jeans. Winning!
The Anthonys are a winning combination. Lala’s hubby Carmelo is also putting in work at Madison Square Garden. Melo was able to put away 34 points in the 92-86 win. The legendary Phil Jackson was named the Knicks’ President and he was given a warm reception before a home game against the Indianapolis Pacers. It looks like the Phil era is manifesting itself as the Knicks snag their seventh straight win.
Adidas Hoops Florist City Collection
What’s Spring without an occasional floral arrangement? This was Adidas’ sentiments exactly. The spring-inspired special edition “Florist City Collection” were designed especially for John Wall and Damian Lillard. Both Florist City Crazy 1s and select items will be available at Foot Locker and Adidas.com.
Well, that’s it for now lovely Divas! i will definitely be back to keep you fabulously posted with the hottest in NBA style and gossip!
This past weekend New Orleans was a fabulous melting pot of hoops and HOT fashion as NBA players, cialis celebrities and public figures alike came together to partake in various Big Easy festivities surrounding the annual All-Star Weekend.
There was so much fashion throughout the weekend that I’ve dedicated the entire Courtside Chic to highlighting some of the best – and worst – looks of the weekend. Let’s get to it. Sprite All-Star Celebrity Game
The festive weekend kicked off on Friday, drugstore February 13th on TNT with the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, prostatewhere comedian Kevin Hart was voted the MVP for the third consecutive year. He insisted, however, that Arne Duncan take the award because of his impressive double-double performance. The former Chicago Public School CEO definitely schooled everyone on the court with his 20 points, 11 assists and 6 rebounds.
K. Hart was also spotted with Drake, sporting a Yves Saint Laurent top under a black leather jacket. The platinum selling rapper and Toronto Raptors brand ambassador opted for a laid-back look, wearing a Toronto Raptors T-Shirt and a snap-back hat.
Damian Lillard’s Hot Three Piece Suit
Damian Lillard is on fire! Sure, he became the first player to ever compete in five events. I understand that this is a big deal, but that fabulous suit is an even bigger deal! The 2013 Rookie of the Year was seen sporting a ALBA Legacy custom three-piece suit that looked like it was tailored by the gods themselves. The only thing that I love ore than an athlete in a suit…is an athlete in a custom suit.
Lillard competed in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, Foot Locker 3-Point Contest and Sprite Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday and the All-Star Game on Sunday.
Chris Bosh’s Clean-Cut Ensemble, Giant Birkin Bag
At the Sear’s Shooting Stars event on Saturday, Team Bosh beat Team Durant and won the event at NBA All-Star Weekend for the second consecutive year. Chris Bosh, along with NBA great Dominique Wilkins and WNBA star Swin Cash finished with a time of 31.4 seconds in the finals, while Team Durant finished with a lagging 43.6 seconds.
The Sears Shooting Stars champ was seen sporting camo pants and a navy blue jacket with a perfectly pressed white button-up shirt. How much do you want to bet that Mario Chalmers is hiding in that giant Birkin bag?
Paul George’s Zorro Inspired Outfit
I was just waiting for Paul George to pull out a sword and use it to formulate the letter ‘Z’. The Pacers guard’s Zorro inspired ensemble was from Phenom 247 Clothing.
Anthony Davis’ Suit and Kicks
Anthony Davis was selected as a replacement for Kobe Bryant this weekend. I must say, he is really starting to step up from his ‘jeans and hoodie’ getup. The New Orleans forward/center styled a tan suit with ‘Olive’ Air Jordan 9 sneakers. By the way…stop making fun of his eye brows. They’re here to stay.
Kevin Durant in Phenom247
Now…you know that I cannot talk about NBA fashion without mentioning Kevin Durant. KD executes effortless style, even in fabulous suits. Here, he rocks two custom Phenom247 suits.
Lebron’s GQ Bash
Guess who is gracing the cover of March’s issue of GQ? It is none other than LeBron James. What better time to celebrate than All Star Weekend? Athletes and celebrities brought their impeccable style to the celebration. Is it me…or does everything seem to be coming up ‘LeBron?’
Even President Obama spoke wonders about James during a TNT interview with Charles Barkley.
“You know LeBron, I know LeBron,” Obama said. “When you’re standing next to him and then watch him close up, I’ve never seen someone that size, that fast, who can jump that high, who’s that strong…Mike [Jordan] will always be the guy for me just because that was a magical moment for the city and he was a champion. But now that he’s retired, LeBron…might be able to play at a high level for another seven, eight, 10 years…” (SB Nation)
Don’t LeBron and Savannah James look like they belong on top of a wedding cake? LeBron rocked a unique turquoise, paisley jacket with black lapels and Savannah looks beautiful and chic in a flower-patterned lace top with long, flowing, black gown.
By the way…is that a baby bump that I’m seeing? When the James’ make their baby announcement…remember you heard it here first!
I still need to think of a cute combo-name for Dwyane and Gabby. Anyway, the recently engaged couple looked Fab in black with Gabby in an embellished black dress and Dwyane in a three-piece suit.
Pharrell’s All Star Sunday Pregame Performance
Ladies and gentlemen…Pharrell’s Hat! Oh, and Pharrell was there too. The hat and the hit-maker gave a wave-making, pre-game performance along with Snoop, Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs and Busta Rhymes.
Kyrie Irving named All-Star MVP
After a close fourth quarter, the East ultimately dominated in a 163-155 win. Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving was named All-Star MVP. The point guard scored 31 points and 14 assists. He did it all in his green Nike All-Star kicks!
Well, I had a fabulous time watching the All-Star events. I’m kind of bummed that it’s over. Nonetheless, I will be back next week to keep you fabulously posted with more NBA Style. Until then, Divas!
I hope that everyone had a fabulous Christmas! I know that Gabrielle Union did. That 8.5 carat engagement ring would put a smile on anyone’s face. Her beau Dwyane Wade finally popped the question over the weekend right before an NBA Christmas party.
The Heat’s guard posted a photo of the engagement ring with the caption “She said YES!!! @gabunion” Well, sovaldi of course she did. I mean, recipe she would look kind of crazy saying no…especially after accepting the championship ring.
Everything about this couple exudes ‘true love.’ Wade has even told Oprah that she makes his eyes sparkle. I got the same effect when I saw that ring. The only thing more beautiful than the cushion cut diamond is the way that he proposed.
His youngest son, Zion, held a sign with Union’s name, his nephew, Dahveon Morris, held a sign that said “Will you?” and his oldest son held a sign that said “marry us?” If you don’t at least think of shedding a tear after reading that, you have no heart. Wade also gave his team matching green jackets since he was in the “giving mood.”
Okay…now back to the ring! The cushion cut diamond was made by the fabulous Jason of Beverly Hills. Who…by the way will make my ring as well. Just, you know, FYI. The “Being Mary Jane” actress and the two -time champion will have a very happy life together. I am going to predict that wedding will be just as fabulous as the engagement!
Chandler Parsons Shaves his head for a Good Cause
Houston Rockets guard Chandler Parsons recently shaved his head in support of a remarkable 10 year-old boy. Patrick Hobbs-DeClaire is a cancer patient who happens to be Chandler Parson’s biggest fan. Parsons was inspired by the young man after meeting with him last week.
“His dad was telling me how he isn’t even scared of death. He is more worried about not looking like his twin brother anymore, so me being his favorite player, I decided to shave my head to look more like him and hopefully give him some support and encouragement from me.” Parsons says. (via Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle)
The Rockets were able to defeat the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas day. Parsons scored 21 points for the Rockets (19-11). It looks like he knew that a very special fan was watching.
Rusell Westbrook’s Pre-Game Leather Overalls
Russell Westbrook arrived at Madison Square Garden sporting leather overalls, a gold chain, and a beanie with the words “Killin’ It” across the forehead.
The OKC point guard indeed ‘killed it’ on Christmas day against the the New York Knicks. In fact, his hat should have said, ‘Slaughtered It.’ OKC gave the New York a blood-bath with a 123-94 final score. The Carmelo-less Knicks were even booed by their own fans.
Westbrook scored 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. This was his first triple-double this season and seventh in his overall career. OKC assisted in making the Knicks’ record 0-7. Ouch.
Serge Ibaka’s All Black Ensemble
Oklahoma City’s power forward, Serge Ibaka struck a pose in an Instagram photo with the caption “I’m having a Thunderful Christmas!!! How about you?”
His Christmas was ‘Thunderful’ indeed, as the Thunder managed to have the most dominant victory of the night. He scored 24 points with 10 of 14 shooting. Looks like he is a winner on…and off of the court. He strikes a GQ pose looking delectable in all black. Not every man can pull off over-the-knee boots. Serge does it well.
Miami Heat Wives, Chris Bosh in Ugly Christmas Sweaters
The holiday season brings out the goofiness in everyone..basketball wives/girlfriends included. Last Friday, the Miami WAGS threw an ugly sweater event. Savannah James looks adorable in her polka dot Christmas kitty sweater and Gabrielle Wade Union looks like an 89-year old book keeper in her snowman vest. Adrienne Bosh, on the other hand, might not have captured the true essence of the evening because she is wearing a cute sweater. I know…boo! Her husband, however, redeemed her. On Christmas day, Chris Bosh arrived at the Staples Center rocking an electric sweater (literally). The sweater lit up with the Abominable Snowman across the chest.
The Miami Heat They was able to defeat the Kobe-less Lakers for their 6th straight win. Bosh scored 23 points and 11 rebounds. They are now 5-0. Happy Holidays to them!
That’s it for now Divas. I’ve got some Christmas leftovers to, um, take care of. I will be back to keep you fabulously posted next week!
Silence the haters. The Chicago Bulls earned themselves a well deserved ego boost at the United Center when they dominated the Miami Heat Thursday night. The formula for success was simple, store the Bulls out hustled, and out rebounded, check out competed and out played the defending champs.
After the devastating loss of Derrick Rose the Bulls have faced serious adversity and haven’t been able to close out a game. Los Bulls looked refreshed and not like a team who recently suffered the loss of their star player. Chicago held onto their lead impressively. No one anticipated this blow out, but we’ll gladly take it against Lebron and his crew!
What You Need to Know:
Size does matter. The Bulls used their size advantage against the Miami Heat and the big men came out on top. Carlos Boozer led all scorers with 27 points. Joakim Noah had a 17 point and 15 rebound double-double. Bulls’ sixth man Taj Gibson did some damage with 19 points as well.
via __jacobwebb__ Instagram
Luol Deng has been a complete animal lately. He had 20 points on the board last night all while challenging Lebron James defensively. This is the sixth straight game that Deng has scored at least 20 points for the Bulls this season…no big deal.
Threes were Key:The Bulls hit 10 three-point shots against the Heat when they’ve been averaging six a game. On the opposite end of the court the Bulls held the Heat to only six three-pointers which is where they can attack a team from the outside in.
Lebron James was the leading scorer for the Heat with 21 points, but he couldn’t close the point gap for his team last night. Michael Beasley followed with 15 points.
The “Big Three” were without Chicago-native Dwyane Wade who stayed at the team hotel due to sickness. Chris Bosh might as well have been sick. He had 10 points, but looked defeated under the basket against Chicago’s bigger bodies.
A Little Romance at the UC. A Luv-A-Bull found forever love at center court last night. She was proposed to in front of the UC crowd and the entire display was caught on the jumbo screen.
Your Take Away Piece:
“Thursday’s win was absolutely refreshing for Bulls fans. It wasn’t a playoff game, but it was a big win against a big rival. This is the kind of team basketball the Bulls’ need to play consistently. They may be without Derrick Rose, but the team still has a ton of talent on the roster. Let’s use it and abuse it. If the team can produce this much offense on the regular, we might see our Bulls with a winning record very soon.”
Next on the agenda the Bulls will host the Detroit Pistons on Saturday at 7PM. Be sure to tune in on WGN between holiday parties to see if the Bulls can keep the winning streak alive. All hope is not lost, ‘Tis the Season to BULLieve.
Banners will be raised, pilule rings will be handed out and the Chicago Bulls hope to dent the egos of the two-time defending Champion Miami Heat on Tuesday night. The Bulls are hungry to prove themselves this year and what better way to get things going than to take on King James and company in South Beach in the first game of the season?
The rivalry between these Eastern Conference foes continues to grow each year and the Bulls have become more eager to put a stop on the Heat’s dominance within the East. The Heat’s confidence will be on high after receiving their lavish Championship display, cheap the intensity of American Airlines Arena will heighten filled with ecstatic Heat fans, cialis but the Bulls players feel they have the talent to beat the Heat.
What You Need to Know:
Reigning MVP Lebron James made it clear, these two teams do not like one another (last year’s brawls during the semi-finals of the NBA Playoffs can prove that). Expect a big game out of King James who’s looking to maintain his “Top NBA Player” status. James’ supporting cast is still in tact with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier, and Udonis Haslem returning this season.
Derrick Rose will play in his first regular season game in over a year. Our excitement to see the star take the court in an official game can barely be contained. Rose sat on the sidelines while his team battled Miami in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs last season. He’s ready to take his game to the next level and get this 82 game season started with a win.
Jimmy Butler came up big in the games against Miami with his tough defense and crazy offense. Why not start the 2013 season with a standout performance against the Heat?
Joakim Noah is questionable for the opening game with a groin injury. This puts the Bulls in a tough spot since Noah is so dominant under the basket and can provide a boost on offense as well. The Bulls have done it before when Noah was sidelined with plantar fasciitis – we’d just prefer our All-Star always be on the court.
The Bulls and Heat split the 2012-2013 season 2-2. No matter who’s healthy and on the floor, the Bulls always give the Heat a tough game. Defense will play a huge factor in the Bulls’ success. Keeping James under control is always your best bet when playing the Heat. The Heat have not forgotten that it was the Bulls who ended their 27-game winning streak last season. They will be looking for redemption tonight and this season.
Man-pri & Murse
If nothing else, you can expect some crazy post-game press conference ensembles from the fashionistas of Miami otherwise known as Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. Man-pris and murses galore!
Your Take Away Piece:
“Things may get ugly with all the hype of the ring ceremony and the historic intensity between these two teams. The Bulls and Heat are two of the most competitive teams in the league and they just happen to be each other’s biggest rivals. Hopefully the brawls from last season will be contained and a clean game of basketball will be played. It’s a new year – clean slate right?”
Be sure to tune in at 7 PM on TNT to catch the conference battle between the Bulls and Heat. You may want to tune in a bit late to miss the ring ceremony theatrics for the diva-licious Heat. It might be the first game of the season, but expect both teams to pull out all the stops in this rivaled match-up.
