This week Nike Training Club brought fashion and sport – hello!? two of my absolute favorite things – together for a celebration of fitness and style at Soldier Field.  Featuring celebrity NTC trainer Marie Purvis, viagra sale and a fashion show hosted by Brittney Payton (Walter Payton’s daughter) and Kristin Cavallari; the show featured pieces from Nike’s new Hyperwarm line and Holiday Collection. When someone says to me that fashion and sport are about to have babies, medical I say, pills how do I become the godmother of that child!?

For a night of fitness and fashion, my girlfriends and I got dressed in our Nike best and snuggled up in some winter wear to bear the 30 degree temps of Chicago. After 30 minutes of continuous leg work repetitions from celeb trainer Marie Purvis, we all ran indoors like we were fleeing from running bulls knowing that warmth….and wine, were on the other side. Let me just tell you, I’m having some serious issues walking up and down stairs, or just plain walking more or less……Marie Puvis did WURK on us! It’s never to early to start preparing for bikini season.

Once inside, and a glass of wine in hand, we patiently waited for the show to start. I was giddy like a little school girl to see what Nike had to offer for this season’s trends and fitness wear. So here is how my review started….”Um…did Nike really make a platform sneaker?!…I thought those died out with platform  Sketchers”. Then, as the show progressed……”Gurl, I need me some of those Nike plats!!” For real, don’t judge; as the models kept walking by, they were sending subliminal messages….“Nike plats, Nike plats…”.

What I loved most about the show is that Nike put together creative pieces that are functional for both fitness and fashion; it was a new twist on the yoga pant and tank. Colors were mixed, patterns were mismatched and I was sold! My favorite piece of the night, aside from the Nike plat, had to be the Nike Pro Hyperwarm print pant; wear them to the gym, to the grocery store, underneath your ski pants….wherever you are, you will have the most dope pants on!

Here are my top five pieces from the event, including the poncho Kristin Cavallari was rocking! For a full recap on the event itself, check out Monica’s review posted yesterday by clicking here! Have a great weekend!

Rule #76: No excuses play like a champion……at least that was the motto in South Bend, treatment IN this weekend when Notre Dame fought to stay undefeated as they won a nail-biter in triple overtime against the University of Pittsburgh. I may not be the largest Nortre Dame fan, pills but I’m a fan of the game and a fan of some good competition.

The morning started with a 6:30am wake-up call, NOT on a school day. I rolled out of bed, I think I took a shower and then got dressed and ready with navys, greens and gold on my mind….and Starbucks.

After stocking up on caffeine and Notre Dame cupcakes in tow, the road trip began and we were off! Inadvertently, we drove through three states, but managed to make good time and find South Bend safely. From the minute we arrived in South Bend our day was planned to perfection…we even had an itinerary, thanks to the Notre Dame staff (thank you Tracy!).

After a little campus sightseeing we made our way to a couple tailgates where the Bloody Mary’s were flowing, the brats were grilling, the chili was cooking and touchdown Jesus was playing bags…I have to say I was in all sorts of awe with the tradition and history that is Notre Dame…..the movie Rudy now makes TOTAL sense to me! There is a reason why generation after generation attend Notre Dame!

Pre-game we enjoyed watching team warm-ups and the bands play up close and personal! Not sure what I liked more…..the men in kilts or the men in lycra football pants…Either way, the theme of our day was staying warm all while looking gameday fab!

It’s officially November and officially cold!!! Listen, it gets cold in the midwest from here on forward, but that won’t stop me from putting together something fab…..I’ve sweat for fashion for the past 7 months, I will now freeze for fashion for the next few months….or 5. It’s time to get creative when putting together something warm and fashionable….my advice, invest in hand, foot and body warmers. The key to my outfit this weekend was layers….try putting a fun patterned collared shirt underneath a vintage sweatshirt like I did below. Not enough? Put a puffy vest over the top and dress it with a fun scarf!

Enjoy the photos and my gameday look! Happy Monday!

Sweater: vintage from a thrift store, Shirt: Gap (similar); Pants: Mossimo Dutti (similar); Shoes: Steve Madden; Vest: Jcrew; Hat: Notre Dame Campus Store (similar); Purse: Gucci

I can’t tell if I’m extremely excited that it’s week seven in college football, prostate or if I’m freaking out that it’s already week seven in college football! Where in the hell did the time go?! This weekend my #4 West Virginia Mountaineers are away in Lubbock, advice Texas getting ready to play Big 12 opponent, sildenafil Texas Tech. In order to bring Morgantown to Chicago, I had to recruit/coerce my friends into being West Virginia fans for the weekend…

It wasn’t that hard when I mentioned swag, cocktails in mason jars and food would be present. Then again, who doesn’t love Saturdays in Chicago? They consist of sitting your tush on some great real estate for hours with friends watching college football game after game.

Believe me, I know how it goes….it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. You pace yourself….with the games…and the cocktails…11:00am games are your first course, appetizers and drinks. 2:30pm games are your second course, a burger (for substance purposes) and more drinks. Finally, the night game usually consists of the liquid diet, followed by some liquid courage. Don’t act like this isn’t you…

Well since I have my friends all sorted with swag, now it’s my turn.  I’m not ready to fully commit to this pant weather just yet, so I went on the hunt for a skirt to pair with boots….to mind the gap of course. The skirt is perfection, affordable and versatile….the trifecta for gameday attire if you will. Rain or shine, cold or hot…I have to dress to impress for my Mountaineers….where else would my priorities be! Question is…what will I do when football is over!? Until then praise gameday fashion! Amen!

With the 100,000 bar options in Chicago, where are you watching the games this weekend? Feel like being a Mountaineer…..well then join us at State Bar & Grill!

Check out how I paired this skirt with two different options for my Saturday gameday gear!

LOOK ONE: Skirt: Old Navy (or similar); Top: Ralph Lauren (similar); Vest: Jcrew (similar) ; Shoes: Nine West (similar); Necklace: Ebay

LOOK TWO: Top: Fresh Factory; Jacket: Cheeky Peach; Necklace: Danielle Stevens

Now that the Ryder Cup has come and gone, diagnosis my frame of mind is back to football game day fashion.  With the weather taking a pleasant dip into cooler temps, it’s time to unpack that fall fashion and get it gameday ready! Colored denim, gingham shirts, sweaters, scarves, boots…..I could list items all the way to Sunday.

This weekend my WVU Mountaineers are playing their second game in the Big 12 at the University of Texas. Big game for the Mountaineers considering our defense let 63 points walk right past them from Baylor last weekend. Thank goodness for the Godsend that is Geno Smith, Heisman hopeful candidate, who carried the team with his 8 touchdowns and 0 interceptions; how do you like them apples!

On to more important things like…what am I going to wear to the game this weekend…..

As of late my favorite go to is a patterned top with colored pants; it’s the easiest and most fashionable way to support your team….as an alternative to logo’d apparel. Plus, what are your options for logo’d apparel once the weather starts to turn…..sweatshirts? Negative! Check out this look I’ve put together for this week’s college football fashion; it’s perfect if you are attending the game or supporting your team from a bar!

Peace out hommies and have a great Friday!

This past Tuesday was the Ryder Cup Celebrity and Captain Scramble, case and along with the the typical golf-friendly celebs (Justin Timberlake, ailment Bill Murray and George Lopez) there were a few surprises. JT and Bill Murray were joined by Michael Phelps in the scramble with JT and Murray taking the gold.  I’m sure Justin couldn’t have done it without his trusty fiancé Jessica Biel who watched from the visitors gallery! Check out the photos below from the event at Medinah Country Club on Tuesday.

Also spotted was Conor Dwyer, Michael Phelps’s teammate in the 400 m freestyle relay this Summer at the London 2012 Olympics. Seems that no one got a glimpse of him, but the Ryder Cup thanked him for coming out and supporting Team USA!

Looks like the Sportsanista wasn’t the only one who celebrated a birthday last week….Larsa Pippen, wife to Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, threw her husband a surprise birthday party at Sunda Restaurant and Lounge. Scottie’s BFF and former teammate, Michael Jordan, was also in tow with his fiance Yvette Prieto. Loving Larsa’s dress! Get it girl! Oh and how amazeballs is that cake!!

Today I will leave with this adorable little nugget and soon to be Sports Divas favorite…Camedon Jack Cutler. Here are some pictures his proud mama, Kristin Cavallari, posted to her twitter last week. I mean, he is wearing Burberry….ADORBS! You’re welcome…..

GOOOOD day my little gosspiers! I hope that you are all having a fabulous hump day!  Yes, capsule gossip comes a little early this week.  It seems as the weather gets cooler in Chicago, prostate the sports gossip gets hotter – forcing me to dish a few days earlier than normal.

So, let’s get started with all the new gossip, shall we?

Earlier this week People Magazine released the first photo for Kristin Cavallari an and her baby, Camden Jack Cutler…son to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. Kristin told People Magazine, “I like having this life that I’m responsible for. It’s exciting and so rewarding, and it’s also a little scary!” Kristin shared that she had an easy pregnancy and was very fortunate for that. What did the Chicago Bears quarterback say after first meeting his son? Kristin mentioned, “He pointed out right away how big his feet are! And his hands were massive — he’ll sure be able to hold a football.” Little franchise QB in the making!

Also, the future Mrs. Cutler made her first appearance after giving birth to their first child Camden Jack Cutler nearly four weeks ago. Kristin posted this photo to her Twitter account a couple weeks ago with some friends about her first night out. I don’t know about you, but this girl left the baby weight at the hospital! Dang! And yes, I’m jealous and so are you!! She is looking as fab as ever!

Moving on to other items…

Here is Dywane Wade looking dapper as ever in a black suit, skinny tie and some sweet specs! Dywane Wade, shooting guard for the 2012 NBA Champions the Miami Heat and Chicago native, was fresh off the plane from New York Fashion week where he took in some shows in between his book signings and chatting with Editor in Chief at Vogue, Anna Wintour.

Here is Dywane Wade with some lovely ladies from Rockit Bar and Grill, just one of many book signing stops.  Not only is he a mega athlete, he is an author. His book titled, “A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball” hit stands on Tuesday. The book speaks of his rise in the NBA and struggle with former wife, whom who won full custody over his two sons from. The book also touches on how he plans to educate his boys about how to treat a lady and his struggles as a single father! Sure a few men in Chicago could learn from how you are to treat a lady….just saying…

This makes me love Mr. Wade more than I already do! I truly respect what he is doing and looking forward to reading the pages that will let us into his life. Click here to learn more about how you can purchase his book. You never know ladies….could be a good gift for your man.

On to our next Chicago native, shooting guard for the Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose. On September 13 in Chicago, D Rose unveiled his new Adidas shoe, the “D Rose 3”. The shoe will be available on October 4th as part of the new D Rose Signature collection by Adidas. This photo here is of D Rose getting a little emotional while watching a video of his recovery and the support he has received from his fans. Just a refresher…D Rose tore his ACL back in April which ultimately left the Bulls hanging for the remainder of the playoff season. There is nothing wrong with a man expressing his feelings.  Glad to know the D Rose has a soft side. To see the video that made D Rose a little emotional, click here!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now.  Until next week, keep the chatter going, fashion pumping, Tigers at bay and Rams from butting…
