Friday Fashion Finds: Layer Like a Pro

It’s been one helluva Chicago winter so far, cialis and I don’t have to be the one to remind you that we are only half of the way through it.

Even as women who have perfected the skill of maintaining some type of style with six inches of snow on the ground and sub-zero temperatures, pilule we still manage to have fashion fall-outs from time to time. Nothing can be trickier than combining your fandom with your limited fashion-forward winter wardrobe rotation.

That’s where layering comes in.

You can never have too many soft, prescription comfy team tees and using these as a base layer is the easiest and chicest way to work your fan wardrobe come winter. Thankfully, there are endless options of vests, blazers, cardigans, capes and scarves that can instantly transform your staple Blackhawks tee into something fierce and UC-friendly.

First, pick your base. We love these two classic, vintage-inspired pieces available at Clark Street Sports. Not only are they great looking, but they are also incredibly soft and light, hugging in all the right places, providing the perfect base – not too bulky and breathable.

I always try to buy classic team tees in the same color scheme, that way I can work as many pieces from my wardrobe without having to buy bigger ticket items to match. The above Blackhawks tee by Retro Brand and Bulls tee by Fifth and Ocean are two of my staples that I have paired with just about everything – pencil skirts and heels for the office to tuxedo jackets and dark skinnies for a Friday night out.

Other everyday pieces I love that work with both of these tees include infinity scarfs. While I would never describe myself as ‘preppy’ I do like the the anchor print of this Sperry Top-Sider scarf that instantly keeps your look classic. Work this scarf year round and pair it with a blazer, jean jacket, anorak, anything.

I’m known for pairing vintage team tees with tuxedo jackets and dark skinnies for a Friday night. Not only is this look different and slightly unexpected, it is also a look that beckons other fans to strike up a conversation with you.

Thankfully, the tuxedo jacket never seems to go out of style, so if you haven’t already invested in a good one, now is the time.

I particularly like this one from White House Black Market, now on sale. The cropped sleeves make it more casual and appropriate for layering with a team tee and provides ample space to layer on the bracelets and other accessories.

For a more casual look, work one of the season’s biggest trends with the Aztec cardigan. I love this choice for the United Center where it always tends to be about 10 degrees cooler than I like for Bulls games and frigid for Blackhawks games.

Remember, it doesn’t have to be game night to work the game day look. This is Chicago, ladies, the best damn sports town in the country. We’ve survived Chiberia, Thundersnow and back-to-back seasons without Derrick Rose. We don’t need a presence in the Super Bowl or the Eastern Conference Finals before we start pushing the team colors (although, it certainly wouldn’t hurt). Make a simultaneous fashion and team statement and work the fandom into your wardrobe starting this weekend.
