Any sport lovin’ gal knows that footballers are the fashionistas of the sporting world. As some of the hardest working men in sports, malady these lean, and label-loving machines inspire us off the field with their attention to fashion that often includes international labels and fashion-forward looks that we only read about in the pages of Vouge.
So you can imagine how pumped we were to hear that the men of the Chicago Fire will be walking the runway here in Chicago next Thursday, all on behalf of charity.
Hosted at the ROOF on the Wit on Thursday, September 19th, you can watch your favorite footballers strut their stuff down the runway sporting the season’s hottest looks from the 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops including designers Diesel, Mezlan Footwear, The Original Penguin and even Chicago Fire Apparel.
Tickets are $50 for regular entry that includes a glass of Moet Hennessy or $75 for VIP access that includes reserved seating near the catwalk, glass of champers, gift bag and a raffle ticket for the exclusive Wit prize package. All proceeds will benefit the Chicago Fire Foundation.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. runway show. More details on the event can be found HERE.
Scheduled to appear are some of the Chicago Fire’s finest: Quincy Amarikwa, Jalil Anibaba, Austin Berry, Sean Johnson, Hunter Jumper, Daniel Paladini, Gonzalo Segares, Paolo Tornaghi, Michael Videira and goalkeeper coach, Aron Hyde.
Soccer fan or not, this is one event not to be missed. How often do we get to see some of Chicago’s finest athletes contained off the field in a gorgeous setting? Not to mention the clothes, the music, the men…I’ll stop there. Want more? Check out the ladies over at Kickette.
And remember, it’s not too late to head to Toyota Park to see the Fire in action. With only seven games remaining in the regular season, the Fire sit in seventh place in the East, only two points out of playoff contention. Every game counts and there’s never been a better time to see these fine men in action. For more Fire news including tickets visit the Chicago Fire’s homepage.
