Bears Ask Fans to Paint the City Orange & Navy on Friday: Our Recs

Here we go – the final week before the Bears 2013 season kicks off on Sunday. As the city of Chicago’s most beloved and celebrated team (sorry Hawks!), mind when the Bears ask their fans and their city to get involved in the pre-game hype process, clinic of course, case we agree!

With a new coach and a new season ahead, the anticipation surrounding Sunday’s season opener at Solider Field against the Bengals is at an all-time high.

On Friday, the Bears are asking fans to show their support by wearing Bears colors in the office, out on the town, in the classroom, to pick up your kids, mow your lawn, you name it.

There will also be a Back to Football Week celebration at Pioneer Court Plaza (401 N. Michigan Ave.) on Friday with the Bears Drumline, giveaways and Bears alumni signing autographs.

In preparation for Friday’s Orange and Navy display, we’ve put together three different looks to comply with the Bears request.

The Office:

These days, it’s easier than ever to throw a polished Bears look together that will pass in even the most corporate of offices, thanks to the ladies at Meesh and Mia. The women owned and operated retailer specializes in high quality pieces with subtle logos and marks which means you can be selective on who you share your fandom with.

Meesh & Mia: $50.50

Opt for this cowl neck Bears tank to take you through the entire Bears season. Wear it alone with a black pencil skirt in the warmer months or under a blazer or cardigan later in the year. We love the attention to detail with the subtle glitter logo and small rhinestones around the logo. Buy it HERE.

The Night on the Town:

By now you probably know that we’re big believers on wearing the right gear ALL weekend long – so of course we are going to recommend heading out on Friday night of opening weekend sporting team colors.

Sporty Threads: $29.00

Turn heads on Friday night in this unique Bears tee by Junk Food from Sporty Threads.

With a cropped front, longer back displaying “Monsters of the Midway”, off-the-shoulder option, vintage look with an uber soft feel, you can’t go wrong with this piece. Pair it with dark skinnies and an eye popping clutch to get the weekend going off on the right foot.

Game Day:

With temps calling for sun and the high of 80 degrees, Sunday’s noon kickoff on the lakefront should be epic.  If you are lucky enough to be heading to the game, take advantage of the opportunity to go sans parka and rock this lightweight tee from Clark Street Sports.

We love this Junk Food tee for it’s sexy, jagged v-neckline, insane softness and body-hugging shape. Pair it with dark red cargos or skinnies and a flat, sturdy, closed-toe shoe to make it through the hours of tailgating, Soldier Field steps, and stadium sludge. We are loving these tan flats from Toms.

And remember ladies, the new NFL Purse ban – you can only bring in a clutch the size of your hand – or all of your belongings must fit in a clear Ziploc bag. No, this is not a joke. More info on the #NFLPurseBan HERE. And for a great laugh, check out the Broadside’s Tailgate retaliation response to the purse ban.

Clark Street Sports: $29.99

Until next week, Bear Down ladies…in killer fashion, of course!
