It’s Friday and that means one of two things…..goosip and fashion. Today, sick I’m bringing both to all of you Sportsanistas.
OMG. He said what!?….One should expect the claws to come out during Packers week. No other team gets Bears’ fans blood boiling like the cheese heads from up North. And with so much at stake this Sunday, viagra it didn’t take long for the Bears and the Packers to start running their mouths and taking shots at each other in the media.
It all started when Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall showed up at a press conference with his Charlie Brown tree which he compared to the Bears’ season: ragged, with one last ornament – a sign of hope. Marshall went on to say that he really dislikes the Packers, careful not to use the H word, saying Sunday’s game was the biggest game of his career and that he felt disrespected by the Packers for comments made about him after the Bears loss in Week 2 at Lambeau.
The Bears diva wide receiver seems to love being in the spotlight on and off the field and is slowly becoming the talking head for the Bears (inadvertently, we’re sure). Marshall’s press conference remarks were followed up by Packer’s tight end, Jermichael Finley talking trash about Brian Urlacher, stating that the Bears are probably better off without him (Urlacher is out for the season with a hamstring injury).
Oh, but it doesn’t end there.
Lance Briggs was then asked about Jermichael Finley’s comments about Urlacher to which he replied, “he’s an idiot.” Plain and simple. Finley has since then retracted some of his comments on Twitter stating that Urlacher is a hall-of-famer, blah blah blah, but it seems the damage has been done and the hits on Sunday will be harder because of it.
K Cav’s New Shoe Line….Now what’s a Friday without fashion? Nothing I tell you! Former “Hills” star and fiancé of Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari has partnered with Chinese Laundry to create a shoe line. The line is representative of Kristin’s style, filled with stilettos, suede platforms and flats. The best part about the collection? The affordable price range!! The collection will be sold online and soon to be available in Von Maur stores in 2013 with shoes ranging from $89.95 to $149.95.
The launch event was held in New York on December 4th. Celebrities such as Carmen Electra were also in tow all supporting Ms. Cavallari’s new business venture. Guests enjoyed her new shoe collection and drooled over ankle strap stilettos, suede pumps and embellished flats while sipping on Skinny Girl cocktails.
I find myself to be impatient at times and when it comes to fashion, I am beyond impatient. When I see something I like, I want it now, no questions asked. If you are as impatient as me and can’t wait until 2013 to own a pair of mint stilettos that you have already paired with 100 things in your closet, I have a cure for you! Head to www.chineselaundry.com/kristin-cavallari to shop the collection now and have a pair of these coveted heels waiting on your doorstep on Jan. 2. My holiday shopping rule…..one for you, two for me.
Noah lends a hand on and off the court this week….Nothing warms a Sportsanistas heart more then when people give back to their community. The holiday season has a way of touching peoples hearts and it’s seems that the holiday bug has struck Chicago Bulls center, Joakim Noah, right in the heart.
Joakim, his mother and sister were both in attendance at the Major Adams Community Center holiday party on the West Side. Joakim’s foundation, Noah’s Arc Foundation, partnered for the first time with the Community Center to create an unforgettable day for 200 children.
Joakim and his family assisted in unveiling the Centers newly redecorated art and game room. Joakim’s sister was quoted speaking highly of her brothers efforts stating, “To see the reaction of the kids and the joy that they have is what makes days like this a success. Watching my brother interact and give them that one-on-one conversation with all the kids circled around him are moments that mean a lot.”
Joakim mentioned this was the first time he visited this center, and it won’t be the last. With the relocation of the Bulls’ new practice facility in the West Loop, Joakim may have a much stronger presence at the West Side Community Center. NBA.com recorded Joakim saying, “When I come here, it gives me strength. It makes me want to go out and play for them.” And my heart just melted.
Now that we have learned of his skills off the court, check out what Joakim is doing on the court this Saturday at the United Center versus the Brooklyn Nets.
Happy Friday and Happy shopping….
