Happy Friday to all my gossipers! Who is ready for the weekend? Can I get an AMEN!
Let’s get to the gossip, shall we? Celeb athletes opening hot restos is nothing new. Former Chicago Bulls shooting guard & the greatest baller of all time, Michael Jordan was a pioneer in this field opening One SixtyBlue over 10 years ago in the once seedy and barren Randolph Street. Earlier this year, Jordan opened his second Chicago venture with Michael Jordan Steakhouse much to early success. Jordan and crew are now on to their 3rd venture teaming up with Chef Bill Kim from the Cornerstone Restaurant Group, Michael Jordan will bring new flavor to the West Loop neighborhood! Their new creation Belly Q, a Modern Asian Barbecue restaurant will replace On SixtyBlue. Opening day is currently TBD, but as a resident of the West Loop, I cannot wait! If Michael can pull this off, then he really might be the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time).
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been one busy bee these last few weeks…other than being a new dad and leading the Bear’s offense, Cutler and teammate Roberto Garza, Bear’s center and guard, teamed up with the NFL Pro Shop for the 2012 Women’s NFL Apparel line.
Cutty always keeps it fresh with his fashion, which makes him a great candidate for this role! All you haters can drink your haterade, your raspberry rage, but Cutler is the man! Hats off to the Chicago Bears quarterback for jumping head first into the acting world. My critique….the video is witty and hilarious! The commercial was filmed here in Chicago on the Soldier Field Colonnades and the Chicago Bears locker room. If you haven’t seen the commercial, check it out here! Cutler isn’t the only Bear taking to TV. Fresh off a break-up, Chicago Bears linebacker, Brian Urlacher, announced this week that he was receiving alternative therapy for this injured knee. This week in practice the Chicago Bears linebacker got a littttttle sensitive when asked about his secret trip and treatment in Europe. Doesn’t the media know he has an ailing heart as well? Does Urlacher deserve all the heat from the press?
Before the announcement of his injury, Mr. Urlacher was featured in Comcast’s new Xfinity commercial, to be aired this football season as part of the “NFL Sunday Ticket” campaign. Like Cutler’s debut, Urlacher is pretty entertaining! Let’s just hope he can crush his opponents like he can crush those DirecTV rates!
Check out the Chicago Bears tonight on CBS as they battle against the defending SuperBowl champs, the New York Giants! Only two more weeks until regular play gets under way! Let the countdown continue….
Peace out for now gossipers!
