This week Chicago Bear’s star linebacker, #54 Brian Urlacher updated his Facebook status from “single” to “in a relationship”.  As we all know – it’s not official until its on Facebook! The host of Love in the Wild, Jenny McCarthy, confirmed that the two are indeed an item. “I can confirm that yes it’s true, we are dating, “ McCarthy said to NBC Chicago. “Go Bears, that’s all I can say.”

The same night that the news broke, the new happy couple were spotted dining at Bill and Giuliana Rancic’s restaurant, RPM Italian. Wonder what they thought of Mama DePandi’s Bucatini….yum!

The Sportsanista is looking forward to seeing what Ms. McCarthy will bring to the gameday fashion table!

Another hot topic this week was the backlash of Blackhawk’s star winger, Patrick Kane’s boozy weekend.   After the Blackhawks season ended, Patrick Kane, chose to live the good life instead of playing for Team USA in the World Championships. Shortly thereafter, Kaner was spotted on the University of Wisconsin – Madison campus, celebrating Cinco De Derby.  Every college student played paparazzi, sending tips and pix to Deadspin and Terez Owens. Above is just one of the many Kaner photos. Rookie mistake Kaner!

The Blackhawks made a statement regarding Kaner’s Cinco shenanigans. ESPN Chicago reported that Hawks General Manager Stan Bowman stated, “We’ve discussed it with Patrick and we’ve handled it internally. We’re obviously disappointed how it played out and Patrick is aware of that fact.” Tisk tisk Patrick!  Nobody likes getting yelled at by their boss!  But in the age of camera phones and Deadspin, the Hawks need to protect their investment and Kaner needs to do a better job keeping the party under closed quarters.
