Happy Friday Sport Divas! I’m loving me some Fridays, especially Fashion Police Fridays! The only other thing that has me more excited than fashion, is football making its way back to the headlines. May brings the transition of NFL players from off-season hibernation to making their way back to work. With teams hosting Mini-Camps and OTA’s, we are seeing the likes of Cutler and Urlacher in the headlines, and not just regarding their lovely lady friends. Cliff notes on NFL Mini-Camps and OTA’s:
OTAs: Organized Team Activities: for the team without pads and coaches.
Rookies and free agents have their own mini-camps to fight for a spot at training camp.
Mini-camp is mandatory for all members of the team.
With a little more free time on their hands, of few of the Bears players took some time this week to do good and look good! Brandon Marshall, the diva wide receiver traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Chicago Bears in March, gets to rekindle his bromance with Cutler on the field this fall. The two were teammates at the Denver Broncos for two years where the both were drafted in 2006.
Before making his mark at Soldier Field, Brandon Marshall is making his mark in the community. This week Brandon visited UCAN Academy in Chicago to meet with members of the Project Visible Man, and boy was Mr. Marshall “visible”. Sporting a salmon blazer, yes I said salmon, collared shirt and a turquoise pocket square, Brandon certainly did make a statement with his colorblocking friendly look. However, making a fashion statement is just another day in the life of Brandon Marshall. Check out this photo of Brandon and his wife at the Mayweather/Cotto fight a few weeks ago. Keep it up Mr. Marshall! Let’s just hope you make some statements on the field this fall!
Not too far from UCAN Academy, ‘Cutty Cut’, aka Jay Cutler, was down the road at Perspectives Charter Schools’ Calumet Campus where students received free diabetes screening. The quarterback, who was diagnosed with Type I diabetes in 2008, was there to support the students who received free screenings. Cutler showed up in his usual Tennessee Vandy Chic, sporting a plaid button up paired with a black blazer, khaki pants and tan leather sneaks! Cutler is nearly a seven year vet in the league and he is no rookie when it comes to fashion. Ladies, want your man to look like Cutty? Shop where the quarterback shops, at Bonobos located in NY and CA; a mens store that provides vibrant, bold and tailored pieces for everyone! Check out the vintage video below of Cutty at Bonobos shopping and getting advice on suits and everyday wear for the 2011 season. E:60 Jay Cutler, Re-Designed
